Super Sculpey® is a polymer clay, which stands out for its excellent detail reproduction and suitability for tooling. Super Sculpey® cures in the oven to a ceramic-like mass and gets a smooth surface by sandpapering. After curing, it can be painted. By the translucent, pink-beige color, the original Super Sculpey® has become the preferred polymer clay of many doll manufacturers. Although it is very soft, it does not collapse after working. He is also increasingly preferred when it comes to prototypes from which negative forms are then removed. Artists use Super Sculpey® to create sculptures with the finest detail features. Super Sculpey® FIRM is gray, harder than the original version and even better suited for tooling. Both versions are CE certified!
Super Sculpey® should be heated in a preheated oven at 130°C for about 15 minutes. This applies at a thickness of 6 mm. At a thickness of 12 mm, the baking time is extended to 30 minutes. Super Sculpey® is not suitable for microwaving. Of course, Super Sculpey® can also be painted. We recommend acrylic paints or a water-based glaze instead of oil paints. The paint should be applied in thin layers to make the best bond with the cured clay. Uncured Super Sculpey® will last a long time when stored in cool places. Direct sunlight and heat will shorten the shelf life.
